How Nintendo Can Save Itself With Mobile Platforms

Added: 23.01.2014 4:16 | 72 views | 0 comments

Hardcore Gamer: Nintendo is in trouble. Doom and gloom has been forecast for the company since the Wii Us soft launch, and this past week saw the company report that the Wii Us sales are dramatically lower than expected. Despite the introduction of a Mario/Luigi bundle, the recent release of Super Mario 3D World, and older highly-revered games like LEGO City Undercover and The Wonderful 101, the system didnt catch on for holiday sales and is expected to sell 2.8 million for the fiscal year. Worse, 3DS sales arent going to be as high as expected either and portable gaming is the one area Nintendo can always hang its hat on with investors and point to as a success. After many years of its outdated practices, from using relatively ancient hardware for the Wii U to an antiquated online setup, Iwata stated that he was willing to look into new ways for the company to make money.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (PS3) Review | SuperPhillip Central

Phil at SuperPhillip Central writes, "LEGO City Undercover was one of my biggest surprises from 2013. It exuded with charm, polish, and had a dense open world to explore. Coming off that game, which I deemed the greatest LEGO game yet, I was eager to see how TT Games' next licensed LEGO game would turn out. The end result is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and I don't think I have had as many ups and downs with a game in a looooong time."

LEGO Friends (3DS) Review All I see is Friends, wheres the LEGO? | COG

Does this new LEGO franchise have what it takes to make a good LEGO videogame? Youll just have to read to find out. "With successful LEGO game releases such as LEGO City Undercover and LEGO Marvel, I couldnt help but hope for LEGO Friends to be another successful addition to the LEGO game franchise. Although targeting younger girls, I hoped that it would not just contain the mere dress-up aspect, but also the prominent LEGO twist. The fact that LEGO Friends has real life LEGO sets and other merchandise I can only imagine the excited fans that now have the ability to interact with their favourite characters in a digital environment. It was like when the trading card game Yu-Gi-Oh! was released for the Game Boy Advance, I was overjoyed! Nonetheless, will LEGO Friends be like the rest of the typical dress-up games already in the market or will its features prove that it can go beyond that?"

Added: 26.08.2013 18:21 | 41 views | 0 comments

SuperPhillip Central writes, "For many children, teens and young adults, most are back in school. It seems like the gaming industry is taunting them due to releasing the biggest titles of the year while they're busy with school and not when they all this free time during the summer. We digress, however. This week's edition of SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGM has a wonderful array of games represented, including Resident Evil 4, LEGO City Undercover, and Final Fantasy X. Once you're done perusing this week's VGM, take a look at all past VGM in our VGM Database."

BLTN Reviews: LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins (3DS) Review | SuperPhillip Central

Added: 20.07.2013 12:16 | 48 views | 0 comments

"The work week is over for most, so let's celebrate with a BLTN review. What are Better Late Than Never reviews? These are reviews for games that are too recent to be retro and too old to be regular reviews-- hence, Better Late Than Never. Tonight's game is none other than LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins. I have made it no secret that LEGO City Undercover is my favorite Wii U game out of the small amount of titles Nintendo's new console has seen. It featured a humorous story with excellent and funny dialogue, an open world city with literally something to do at every street corner, and a level of charm that most games dream about having. Taking what makes LEGO City Undercover on Wii U so fantastic and transplanting it onto weaker hardware on the Nintendo 3DS is no easy task, but that's what TT Fusion have attempted to do with LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, a prequel to the Wii U game. Will you want to keep up with Chase McCain and the gang?"
